About Me

Hiya, I'm Testino a Graphic Design student from a town near Milan

After studying graphic design I want to apply my skills in architectural practice. My mission is to promote ethical architecture and encourage the building of carbon neutral homes for a vibrant modern society. Affordable green accommodation should be a right in the 21st century, not a vision. I see that the world needs to change and I want to be part of this revolution.

Consumer habits are shifting, people are becoming concerned about the effects of global warming and architects will become more responsible in the coming years, addressing the global energy crisis, buildings greener homes that heavily reduce their energy consumption and carbon footprint. I plan to design futuristic multiple occupancy buildings for the younger generations.

Inspiration

My favourite architect is Frank Lloyd Wright and I'm inspired by his building Fallingwater

The Great Depression of the 1930's discouraged the demand for new construction and many wondered if Wright had offered all he could to America’s great architecture. The eventual success of his iconic building 'Fallingwater' in fact heralded a new era of success for Wright and he went on to complete hundreds of new buildings including New York’s Guggenheim.

Now one of America’s most treasured buildings, 'Fallingwater' is one of the worlds finest examples of organic architecture, not only connecting design with nature but celebrating both landscape and buildings with a sense of time and place.

Materials

Sustainable construction can be influenced by ancient dwellings. Cob is a great material!

Have you ever wonder what those unusual organic-looking houses are made of? They are constructed from a material called cob which is pretty much a mix of subsoil, water, fibrous organic material (typically longer straw) and in some cases lime. Did you know that the oldest known cob structure is over 10,000 years old? Due to housing crises and the climate change on top of it, it certainly made us think about alternatives.

Design detail that inspires and promotes health living

Architectural detail requires a certain patience and respect, designers should not overlook the importance of well considered design. No matter how strong the concept of a building is, the project will always sink or swim based on the quality of its detailing. My Graphic Design skills heavily influence how I design buildings, I want to design inspirational buildings and make living in a square box a thing of the past.
